Cracked screen or dead battery doesn't mean your iPhone is finished. At SOS iPhone Paris, screen and battery repair happen in 30 minutes while you wait in our atelier near Gare de Lyon.
We replace screens and batteries on every iPhone from the iPhone X to the iPhone 16 series. Each repair includes water-resistant gasket replacement, so you don't trade a cracked screen for corroded internals six months later.
Why OLED, LCD, or Original?
The technology you choose changes the phone's behavior. OLED displays recover true blacks and deeper color saturation. LCD is dependable and affordable. Original parts preserve the engineering Apple shipped. We explain the differences: OLED suits color-critical photography or video editing; LCD suits everyday use and longevity on a budget; Original suits users who want the engineering that passed the factory.
All choices cost less than a replacement phone.
Screen Damage Repair: Five Repair Paths
Cracked outer glass. The digitizer (touch layer) underneath works, but you see fractured outer pane. We replace the glass, test, reseal. No loss of tactile response or precision.
Unresponsive touch. The digitizer has failed. Tapping does nothing, or unpredictable parts respond. We replace the digitizer and the outer glass as an assembly. Touch response returns to full sensitivity.
Black screen after a drop. Impact severed a power line or the MIPI ribbon carrying the display signal. We reprobe the connector, reseat the ribbon, test. If the connector bent, we straighten or replace it. The display powers on.
Ghost touches. The digitizer sends phantom taps when idle. Moisture, separated solder, or contact corrosion cause it. We diagnose the digitizer layer—usually replacement solves it. If moisture is the culprit, we apply gentle heat and let capillary action pull water away, then reseal.
After immersion. Salt water corroded the LCD connector or shorted the MIPI signal line. We replace the full display assembly and re-gasket. Saltwater damage to electronics is difficult; freshwater is simpler—often a drying step and reseal suffices.
Battery Replacement: What You Experience
Battery capacity fades. After 500 charge cycles (roughly 18 months of daily use), an iPhone battery holds 80% of its rated capacity. By 1,000 cycles (3 years), it holds 60%. When capacity falls below 60%, iOS throttles performance to spare the chemistry. Websites load slowly. Apps stall. The phone reboots at 20% charge, even with the display off.
We swap the battery in 30 minutes. Capacity returns to 100%. Performance returns to factory.
Swollen batteries happen under extremes: prolonged cold, high-current draw, defect in manufacturing, or electrical fault. The pouch inside expands and pushes the display out of the bezel. The phone feels inflated. Swelling can strain the digitizer ribbon and cause unresponsive touch. Do not keep a swollen battery in a pocket—thermal runaway is rare but lethal. Bring the phone to us. Battery replacement is straightforward and safe.
No-Cost Diagnosis
Every repair starts with diagnosis. We inject power and check whether the device boots, what error it produces, and which subsystem is at fault. Diagnosis for screen and battery issues is fast—usually 10 minutes. We tell you whether the problem is the display, the battery, a connector, or deeper hardware. No charge.
Diagnosis goes deeper if you want: microsoldering repair of a failed battery connector, signal line repair if the MIPI ribbon tore, or component-level analysis if a mysterious symptom points to a short. That depth costs 69 to 99 euros and is deducted from the repair price if we proceed. If the problem proves unrepairable, the fee is yours—you saw the work and the limits of what we can do.
Warranty: Six Months, No Hidden Clauses
Every screen and battery replacement carries a 6-month guarantee. If the part fails within that window, we replace it at no cost. If you damage it (dropped again, crushed, immersion), the guarantee covers parts but not labor—you pay for reinstallation. The guarantee does not cover cosmetic wear or normal fading (True Tone calibration, for example, can shift slightly after six months of daily sun).
